Getting comfortable, being uncomfortable.

Scenic shot of the beach with waves hitting the rocks.

If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.

That’s right, uncomfortable is the new comfortable. It’s a strange concept, I admit but having put myself in several uncomfortable situations of late I can confirm that the benefits far outweigh the apprehensions.

Have you ever had that feeling where you drive somewhere and realise you can’t actually remember the journey? You think wow, how have I made it here in one piece, I was completely on autopilot. Equally that fimilarity of each week passing you by with the same repetition, wake up, work, dinner, sleep, repeat. Your brain will naturally create some muscle memory as a result of this regularity and find itself comfortable. It’s your job to change it up!

Now I’m not suggesting everyone should go and book themselves onto an Everest expedetion. My recent Uncomfortable situation was to go to a ladies clothing shop to buy a present for my daughter. Man, I was on high alert that day, I had no clue, experience or motivation but came out of there with a huge sense of achievment having done something that I’d always dismissed in the past. These achievments make you feel alive while also building confidence and resilience. How will you make yourself uncomfortable this week?
